My "first born" turned 9 last Saturday. We adopted him from Arkansas when he was 6 months old. He had a black nose. They said he never shed. All these years later, his nose is now pink, we have Digby tumbleweeds rolling across our floors, and our skin has been licked raw from kisses. Now he's our little old man.
It is impossible for me to believe that it has been a year and a half since Jory & Michelle were married. That means it's been two and a half years since I first met Michelle over a cup of coffee (after we determined we were at different Dunkin' Donuts) to talk about their wedding plans. My how time flies! Needless to say, I was more than a little excited when they announced the impending arrival of their little one AND that they wanted to get together for maternity portraits.Read More
I asked my daughter to help me take apart the glider that I was given by my husband the Christmas before she was born. I'm a sentimental sap, so I just might have had to choke back a few tears knowing we'll never rock together in the glider again. It went to a new home the next day.
P.S. The glider's new home is with my amazing clients, Michelle & Jory. The full sneak peek blog post of their maternity session is coming your way tomorrow. Knowing the little one that will soon be rocked in this chair warms my heart.
It does not matter how bad her skin gets chapped and raw. When she's concentrating, her tongue comes out. Even today when it was below freezing out.
Ah, the new year. The time of year when everyone is running around determined to accomplish a load of different tasks. Call them resolutions, to do lists, dreams... whatever they are, I do find a new sense of optimism at the start of each year. Perhaps it is the flip of those last few number when I write out the year that do it. Or maybe it's starting the date with two 1s that does it. Yet here we are. A chance to start a new.Read More
I first met Miss M over two years ago when she was just twelve days old. I walked into her parent's home in Gorham and instantly melted. She was such a tiny cutie that I could have spent the entire day just watching her sleep. She was adorable!Read More
Did you know that it's the holidays? Christmas is in four days! But when you buy a new home and move in when it's cold, snowy and icy out... time slips by pretty rapidly! So, when my friend Michelle contacted me recently for their family portraits, we made it happen and set up a mini session at their new home in Standish, Maine, this afternoon. Between their two rambunctious four legged children and a very enthusiastic four year old (she get it from her mama!)...Read More
"We were both so impressed with how we didn't notice Susie AT ALL during our ceremony. Seriously, she was like a fly on the wall, but she managed to get the most intimate, beautiful pictures of our wedding. We were amazed.Read More
Full disclosure. I delivered Jordan & Colin's full gallery to them weeks ago at this point from their November 12th wedding have not yet posted their full sneak peek. I hope you'll forgive me, but I was focusing on having the images wrapped up well before the holidays. ;-)
I have been emailing back and forth with Jordan since she first contacted me back in August of 2015. So, when we first got together in person in October, it was certainly like meeting up with an old friend to catch up. Easy to get along with would be an understatement!Read More
Wow. Wow. WOW!
When Molly first contacted me about her September 2017 wedding with Colin back in August, I instantly knew that I really wanted to be their photographer. We emailed back and forth about their incredible plans at one of my favorite venues in Maine and also about their relationship over all these years that led them to this point. We chatted on the phone shortly before they left for a trip to Iceland and it was like talking to old friends.Read More
