Michelle & Chris’s pretty in pink fairy day has been lurking in the wings here on my blog for a few weeks. But, as I get ready to send along their full gallery to them in the next few days, I knew it was time to relive the day here at last through their sneak peek. And oh my what a day it was! Truth be told, I’ve been looking forward to their wedding for over a year since they first contacted me and even more so since their engagement session last October.Read More
Keeley & Dan reached out to me to photograph their own nuptials over a year in advance of their wedding date. Having worked with me already, it didn’t take long for them to officially crown me their wedding photographer. I love it when that happens! They were planning a backyard soirée at Keeley’s childhood home with their closest family and friends there to celebrate. In fact, the tent was actually set up where Keeley & Amber’s swing set was set up many years ago. I am sure that the weekend was a bit surreal to their parents as the lawn was taken over with lawn games, cocktail tables, an aisle, and a large white tent.Read More
Fifteen months. That is how long I waited to meet Lynsday & Collin for the first time on their wedding day. Yet that fifteen months of calls and emails made it seem like I was catching up with old friends when I arrived at Camp Wildwood in Bridgton, Maine, for their wedding festivities. I found Lyndsay with her ladies with their preparations well under way in one of the cabins tucked a bit away from the other wedding guests enjoying the beach across camp. The nerves had kicked in for everyone along with the occasional giggle of excitement. Meanwhile, Collin and his gents played volleyball by the main hall before retreating to the lower level of the cabin to tackle their own primping. With their getting ready stage completed, I shooed their lingering family and friends away (sorry, y’all!) to give these two a brief moment of time to see each other. As soon as they locked eyes on each other, the stress melted away and the laughter started again. As I saw them together in one space for the first time ever, it was very obvious to me why they make such a perfect match.Read More
A chance encounter at a birthday party started Samantha & Dalton down the path of spending the rest of their life together. If the past ten months of getting to know them both better has taught me nothing else, it is that Dalton & Samantha are gifted at making each other so very happy no matter what life has thrown at them. I dare say that Samantha simply is not capable of smiling more than she does when Dalton is around. And the twinkle that comes to Dalton's eyes when he even talks about Samantha... sigh. Life goals, friends. Needless to say, you cannot help but be so very happy when you see the two of them together.Read More
Danielle & Dustin... if I were to get married today (versus ten years ago), I dare say that Alan & I would have a wedding much like theirs. Gorgeous burgundy lace bridesmaids dresses (which I conveniently matched with my own attire). Danielle's stunning, classic, long sleeved lace wedding dress complete with buttons on the cuffs. Her hair done in a lovely french twist (thank you Audrey!). Dustin getting ready with his guys upstairs with lots of laughter and antics. The sun streaming through the white puffy clouds and glistening across Rangeley Lake. The amazing staff from The Loon Lodge and florists from Sunrise View Farms busily prepared the lakeside green lawn for their ceremony.Read More
Oh. My. Goodness. It has been over a year since I have been looking forward to Molly & Scott's wedding. I knew through our email correspondence that these two love birds planning their wedding "from away" were perfect for me. Their vision of their wedding day and their story of meeting at City Year had me hook line and sinker. I met them in October of last year at Two Lights State Park for their engagement session and spent a few hours exploring the rocky coastline with them. It made me want to fast forward to this past weekend even faster! They are such an adorable, kind hearted couple!Read More
Well over a year ago, Hillary reached out to me across the ether in the early stages of planning her Maine wedding with George from a land far away. As someone who works with a number of couples "from away" every year, crafting a relationship with these two love birds since then, despite not having met them, was second nature. It goes without saying that arriving at Hair Station to meet up with Hillary and her ladies felt like meeting up with an old friend.Read More
It's hard to believe that Emily & Dale's wedding was just a few weeks ago and I've already been working at designing their wedding album. Reliving their day while telling the story of their day made me realize that I had yet to hit "publish" on their official sneak peek blog post! Time flies when I'm focused on delivering their gallery to them!Read More
My journey with Jessica & John began a few years ago as I photographed John's sister's wedding. What struck me then, and still does today, is how much they can make each other smile and laugh. Their mutual love of sarcasm seems to bind them closer together, too. It goes without saying that I was more than a little excited in July of last summer when Jessica reached out to me as they were starting their own wedding planning. After I finished literally jumping for joy at the prospect of spending the day with John's family again, Jessica told me of their plans for an "Alice in Wonderland" themed wedding at the always gorgeous Dunegrass Weddings at the Dunegrass Golf Club in Old Orchard Beach.Read More
As often happens this time of year, this "sneak peek" isn't much of a sneak any more as Amber & Bryant received their complete gallery weeks ago when they were on their honeymoon! Yet here I am. Thinking back on their glorious wedding at Broadturn Farm in Scarborough, Maine. To be honest, I have been hoping to have the opportunity to capture a wedding there, so it is no understatement that I was looking forward to their day ever since Amber first contacted me.Read More
Nicole & Derek's wedding this past weekend was honestly one that I have been looking forward to for a VERY long time. When Nicole first contacted me, she laid out her vision for their day with their ceremony in Randall's Orchard, an apple orchard nearby, and then their reception at the historic Spire 29 on the Square in Gorham. She had me at fall wedding in an orchard. Could you think of a better time of year?!? Apples still glistening on the branches, the sun reaching the dreamy point in the sky this time of year, and then partying at a renovated church turned event venue? *sigh* My fingers were crossed that I would be lucky enough to tell their story and was jumping for joy when they told me I was their pick.Read More
For some couples, wedding planning can be a lengthy process. For Autumn & Zach, that wasn't the case! When Autumn's dear mom called me a few months ago to excitedly share that Autumn & Zach were getting married. I first met Autumn and her family three years ago when her sister, Jacqueline, married Joshua. Even since then, I have been looking forward to the day that I would be able to work with all of them again. Needless to say, I just could not say no when I was asked to capture Autumn & Zach's wedding, too!Read More
Just over a year ago now, I sat down in a local hole in the wall donut shop with Angie as she and Jake were solidifying their wedding plans already a while in the making. Time flew by quickly and soon I was sitting in my car excitedly tapping on my steering wheel hoping that I would have the honor to capture their wedding day.
The year since then was gone in the blink of an eye and Alan and I soon arrived at the Coolidge Family Farm for their wedding day. With a bit of humidity lingering in the air, we were all happy that the heat of the summer seemingly had decided to tone it down for the day. As Angie & her ladies assembled the last of their details in the top floor of the main house, Jake and his guys arrived to finish their own preparations. The tears first started to flow as Angie had her first look with her Dad and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't misty eyed, too. This day had been coming for a long time and emotions were high.Read More
This post has been waiting in the wings ever so patiently since Katie & TJ's perfect summer wedding last weekend. Truthfully, I have been looking forward to it for just about a year since I first met Katie & TJ over a brew at Some Brewing in York. A couple who travels to Maine on a week day to chat about their wedding over a beer... well, it's obvious why I've been so excited!Read More
Jess & Matt's wedding was one I have been patiently waiting to photograph for just over two years since I first met them both at Sam & Ryan's wedding way back in 2014. As soon as they set the date, a call was made to Sam to get my contact information and they quickly made me officially their photographer for their July 16th wedding. As Jess and I were reminiscing while she was getting ready, she brought up images that I had taken of the two of them at Sam & Ryan's wedding and I immediate said they would be making an appearance on my blog when I posted their sneak peek. Since I like to keep my promises...
Now, on to their wedding. Jess & Matt's wedding was held at The William Allen Farm in Pownal, Maine, which boasts expansive grounds, a lovely pond, air conditioned quarters to get ready in, and their timeless big red barn with a massive deck. Although this was my first wedding there, I have been driving by it for years now and, ever since Jess & Matt booked me, have been giddy declaring that I was going to shoot there every single time. I oh so love barn weddings!
Jess and her ladies spent their morning prepping in the bridal suite of the Farm. We were all VERY excited to have air conditioning as summer was blazing with a vengeance outside. Meanwhile, the barn was adorned with gorgeous flowers from Jess' parent's flower shop, Flowerland, as well as delicious looking cupcakes from Heavenly Delights Bakery as well as plenty of old lace and burlap. All of Jess' hard work with planning definitely paid off in spades as the entire estate was perfect.
Following a very personal ceremony next to the pond and their formal portraits, it was time to celebrate the newlyweds. Matt's brother roasted him like only a brother can during a toast that included an apple for Jess, who is a teacher, when he was referencing his brother's storied past in school. It definitely brought the house down! After the toasts, dinner, formal dances, and the cake was cut... Jess & Matt opted to take the party outside onto The William Allen Farm's huge deck! A mid-reception dance relocation was certainly a first, but it was gorgeous outside watching the sunset. It was so much fun!
Jess & Matt, thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me to tell the story of your day. It was such an honor! And thank you to Sam & Ryan for playing matchmaker and helping connecting them with me. It was so awesome to see you both again!
