Jordan & Colin's Ocean Gateway Wedding in Portland, Maine

Full disclosure. I delivered Jordan & Colin's full gallery to them weeks ago at this point from their November 12th wedding have not yet posted their full sneak peek. I hope you'll forgive me, but I was focusing on having the images wrapped up well before the holidays. ;-)

I have been emailing back and forth with Jordan since she first contacted me back in August of 2015. So, when we first got together in person in October, it was certainly like meeting up with an old friend to catch up. Easy to get along with would be an understatement! I have been even more excited to see all of their planning with the amazing team from Emily Elizabeth Events come to life ever since then.

The morning of their nuptials, the weather took my breath away. It was an absolutely perfect late fall day with a crispness to the air, thin clouds flowing across the sky, a light breeze... I dare say it was exactly what Jordan & Colin were hoping for. The sun was streaming in through the expansive windows inside the Ocean Gateway as preparations began for their evening nuptials. Seeing all of the pieces come together from all of their planning was an absolute treat as was watching the team from Emily Elizabeth Events make Jordan & Colin's dream a reality.

I met up with Jordan & Colin at the Hampton Inn Portland Downtown Waterfront for their getting ready festivities. Colin was relaxing with his guy pals, laughing lots, and partaking in one last game of Catan before he was a married man. Yes, yes.... another example of how Jordan & Colin are my kind of people. Meanwhile, Jordan and the ladies were relaxing and assembling the finishing touches to their ensembles. I absolutely love that they each selected a dress of their own style as opposed to matching each other. They all complimented each other so nicely and, even better, the ladies were able to be in a gown that flattered them and their personality. (Where was that option when I got married years ago??)

Ready for the main event, Jordan & Colin met outside the hotel for the first look before taking off with me in their limo bus to the Eastern Prom for their portraits. With their ceremony happening at sunset, opting for a first look meant that we were able to watch the sunset together and take advantage of the absolutely amazing light that happens as the sun falls below the horizon. Before heading back to their ceremony, we added in visiting their bench overlooking the bay where Colin proposed and to take a moment to acknowledge the journey that brought them to that day. Love is certainly not a strong enough word for that moment.

With their family and friends surrounding them, Jordan & Colin tied the knot in the Ocean Gateway with the ocean glittering behind them. There was laughter, a few damp eyes, and lots of massive smiles from everyone. With the glass broken, it was time to get the party started! With family style table settings, gorgeous floral centerpieces from Pretty Flowers, and delicious food from 111 Maine their guests were wined and dined in style as their family and friends toasted their new union. Following dinner, their guests got their sugar high from the donut cake from Frosty’s Donuts and incredible smores bar from Nothing Bakes Like a Parrott before hopping onto the dance floor to burn it all off.

The newlyweds escaped into the night under a glowstick lined pathway later that evening to begin the next chapter of their life together away on their honeymoon.

Jordan & Colin, thank you a million times over for having me there to capture your story. You are two incredible people surrounded by an amazing circle of awesome people and I am so honored to have been there to meet them all. Now go get that puppy! ;-)
