Just over a year ago now, I sat down in a local hole in the wall donut shop with Angie as she and Jake were solidifying their wedding plans already a while in the making. Time flew by quickly and soon I was sitting in my car excitedly tapping on my steering wheel hoping that I would have the honor to capture their wedding day.
The year since then was gone in the blink of an eye and Alan and I soon arrived at the Coolidge Family Farm for their wedding day. With a bit of humidity lingering in the air, we were all happy that the heat of the summer seemingly had decided to tone it down for the day. As Angie & her ladies assembled the last of their details in the top floor of the main house, Jake and his guys arrived to finish their own preparations. The tears first started to flow as Angie had her first look with her Dad and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't misty eyed, too. This day had been coming for a long time and emotions were high.
Following their first look, where Jake hid behind his sunglasses, we captured some of their formal portraits before their guests started to arrive. As the wooded sanctuary began to fill with their friends and family, the almost newlyweds tucked themselves away to wait for the ceremony to begin. With tissues being dabbed at teary eyes and huge smiles radiated from Angie & Jake (as well as everyone else), they tied the knot beneath a canopy of gorgeous old growth trees with roots as deep as their own.
The newlyweds celebrated their union beneath a large tent on the lawn next to the house for a while before the campfire was started and smores were started. Given the party in store, the sugar rush was certainly needed! Following their meal, the real party got started in the barn as the stars started to appear in the night sky. With the entire barn at their disposal, the expansive dance floor was hoping all night long with both the very young and even Jake's grandmother doing their thing. It was certainly a fitting celebration to help Angie & Jake start their married life off on the right foot.
With their finished gallery of images already in the works, here is a small sampling of what is to come for them.
Angie & Jake, thank you so very much for having us there capturing such an incredible day. All of your planning certainly paid off. Now go enjoy your wedding planning being over!
