Emily & Joven's Destination Wedding at The Barn at Flanagan Farm

Emily & Joven's Destination Wedding at The Barn at Flanagan Farm

Many months ago, Emily and I met each other through video chat with her newborn son chiming in when he felt necessary while I thought about how long it had been since my daughter was his size. Bonding over the chaos of motherhood, we talked about her & Joven's plans for their destination wedding here in Maine during Maine's peak foliage. I was left in awe of their teamwork as they planned their wedding from the other side of the country (with help from Cassie of Doting & Details). Tackling wedding planning with a newborn at home? They did so with style and their wedding day itself was more perfect than I could ever say. Now, they might have wished for slightly warmer temperatures and a bit more bright fall colors on the trees, but at least it did not rain!

Alicia & Mitchell :: Wedding at the Bowdoin College Chapel and Reception at Captain Daniel Stone Inn, Brunswick, Maine

Alicia and Mitchell wrapped up my 2011 wedding season with their perfect day in Brunswick, Maine, with their ceremony at Bowdoin College Chapel with the reception at the Captain Daniel Stone Inn. I could not have asked for a better way to spend the day! From all of their immaculately planned details to the absolutely perfect weather (who knew we had snow on the ground only a week earlier!), it was perfect from start to finish. The Bowdoin College campus was an amazing location for their portraits with tons of gorgeous spots within such a small area. The setting sun also added to the glow of the day and perfectly illuminated the richly colored leaves that were still clinging to the tree branches. It was easy to be inspired!

Mitchell, thank you for serving our country in the U.S. Navy, and Alicia, thank you for being there to support him while he does it! I am very honored to have captured your wedding day for you. I hope you are both loving being newlyweds as much as I loved photographing your day. Thank you for letting me be a part of it all!

Meghan & Shane :: Engagement Session in Limington, Maine

Meghan and Shane are tying the knot next August in a very Maine wedding (you'll have to stay tuned to hear all about it!), but we got together this fall nearby where we both live to capture some memories of this special time in their life together. The temperature was a bit nippy out, but their love for each other, for the most part, kept them warm. As we were getting to know each other more, we discovered that Meghan and I (and my husband) all went through (basically) the same degree program for our undergraduate and even have some of the same friends/classmates. It was a very small world conversation! And, much like my husband and I, Meghan and Shane owe their relationship to the University of Southern Maine. Tough guy Shane and all smiles Meghan and a ton of fun together and definitely compliment each other very, very well. We kept each other giggling all day. And their sense of adventure definitely matched mine. "Hey, this spot would be awesome! Would you mind coming..." and suddenly they were right there. I love a trusting couple!

Meghan and Shane, I had a blast hanging out with you two. I can't wait for the big day!

Engagement Session in Limington Maine

Amanda & Justin :: Trash the Dress in Portland, Maine

I could have entitled this post so many different things. "Hunting for Fall Foliage." Or perhaps "Peanut is the Cutest Dog Ever and I Want to Steal Her." Or maybe just "Someday These Two Stunning People Will Have Cute Babies." No matter what, it was an awesome day. You might remember Amanda & Justin from their gorgeous wedding at the Mountain View Grand this summer. It was the one with three rainbows. When they were deciding on a date, they wanted the fall foliage but without the cold temperatures in the mountains. Frankly, that combination doesn't happen around here with a guarantee. So they opted to have a September wedding instead with a "Trash the Dress" portrait session once the foliage was in full kick. Although we didn't actually trash Amanda's gorgeous dress, we did manage to find the perfect foliage after a lot of hunting. And we also were able to incorporate cute lil' Peanut in to some of the shots for the family pictures we couldn't get without her at the wedding. She's was such a cutie and so much fun to hang out with during the session. Thank you, Amanda & Justin, for letting me capture your memories. May you have many, many years of happiness. You two are so awesome.

P.S. I'll "babysit" Peanut anytime you want. :-)
