Exactly eleven months prior to their wedding, Elizabeth & Michael reached out to me with their plans for their June 2018 wedding at Maine Maritime Museum. I was instantly excited at the opportunity to visit the Museum after Kelly & Kevin's wedding back in 2015. As I got to know Elizabeth & Michael and learned more about their story, my enthusiasm only grew (as did the "reply" list of our email chain). Fast forward to this past Saturday and even mother nature couldn't dampen my spirits. It was time for Elizabeth & Michael to finally get hitched! I am not sure that the forecast was what they had in mind when they opted for a June wedding, but my goodness did they rock it!Read More

A chance encounter at a birthday party started Samantha & Dalton down the path of spending the rest of their life together. If the past ten months of getting to know them both better has taught me nothing else, it is that Dalton & Samantha are gifted at making each other so very happy no matter what life has thrown at them. I dare say that Samantha simply is not capable of smiling more than she does when Dalton is around. And the twinkle that comes to Dalton's eyes when he even talks about Samantha... sigh. Life goals, friends. Needless to say, you cannot help but be so very happy when you see the two of them together.Read More
Almost a year ago, Emily reached out to me about her wedding and we met over coffee shortly thereafter. Meeting felt like hanging out with an old friend. I loved hearing the story of how Coleman proposed in front of their dishwasher and of their plans for their wedding ceremony at Holy Cross where they first met. Fast forward almost a year and the big day was finally here this past Saturday. I met Coleman for the first time while he and his guys were partaking in the usual wedding day shenanigans (including Holy Donuts, I might add). They had me in stitches within moments of my arrival at his parent's house! Afterwards, I met Emily at her home to capture her last moments before slipping on her wedding gown from Andrea's Bridal. With the Portland Discovery trolley's arrival, they were quickly whisked off to Holy Cross for Emily to marry her best friend.Read More
It's hard to believe that Emily & Dale's wedding was just a few weeks ago and I've already been working at designing their wedding album. Reliving their day while telling the story of their day made me realize that I had yet to hit "publish" on their official sneak peek blog post! Time flies when I'm focused on delivering their gallery to them!Read More
I swear that last weekend must be a dream. The weather was perfect; puffy white clouds in the crystal blue sky, a breeze off the ocean, and everything was in bloom. Leah & Nick's long awaited wedding day at the Samoset Resort in Rockport was finally here. It certainly was a dramatic change from the hurricane that enveloped Kristine & Trevor's wedding the last time I was at the Samoset Resort in 2009.
I first met Leah & Nick at her brother's wedding in 2013. I was instantly taken by how genuine they both were. I knew then that I would not want to miss their wedding when the day came. Needless to say, I was beyond thrilled when Leah contacted me over a year ago asking if I was available. Obviously my answer was an enthusiastic yes! And the past year has flown by so fast; between the emails flying between the three of us and a get together at Novare Res in Portland, it was like reuniting with best friends come the day of.
Leah was absolutely stunning in her sky high Manolo Blahnik cobalt blue stilettos and her sterling organza bridal gown from the White by Vera Wang line at David's Bridal (VW351178) with her bridal jewelry from Etsy. Hoboken Gardens created perfect floral arrangements that complimented the vintage-inspired look for their Maine coastal wedding. Add all of the amazing details to the classic Maine wedding venue of the Samoset Resort in Rockport and it really was a dream wedding in every way. I could not have asked for a better way to kick off my 2015 wedding season than with the two of them and the rock star team they assembled to make it all happen.
Nick & Leah, thank you for having Alan and me there with you for your wedding. It was such an honor! I hope you are having a blast on your honeymoon! The photos you've shared with me thus far are making us want to buy a ticket and go there, too.

If I had to say that one couple would get a whirlwind portrait prize, I dare say Nikki & Brad would win. They were married on a perfectly overcast day in September on the field by Portland Headlight. With what felt like the whole world watching, they proclaimed their love for each other. It made me giggle hearing the crowds of people as they were anxiously awaiting the bride. "Is she out of the limo yet?" "Where is she walking down?" "Are they bringing her down on a golf cart?" And then hearing the gasps as everyone saw Nikki for the first time. She really was gasp worthy, too. The subtle pink shading in the flowers on her dress were perfectly complimented by the gorgeous sash and super hot shoes. Her tiara added just the right amount of sparkle to her gorgeous bridal updo.
Once they were pronounced and the formal portraits were done, away we went on our whirlwind portraits of the two of them. I don't think I've ever been able to hit such a wide variety of portrait spots with a couple! From the pond and gazebo on the Fort Williams grounds to the gorgeous cobblestone streets of the Old Port to the boat dotted shoreline of Portland (just don't look left or right or you'd notice that the location we were in was not, in and of itself, very picturesque)... we hit them all! Once their shoes were changed and bandaids applied, it was off we went to party with their closest friends and family at the awesome Mariner's Church Banquet Center. From the classics (YMCA and We are Family) to the latest hits, this crowd kept the party going long in to the night! It was such a blast!
Nikki & Brad (and family), thank you for letting me be there for your awesome day! I had such a great time celebrating with all of you. You both are marrying in to awesome families!

Alicia first contacted me for her wedding well over a year in advance of the big day when she would married her best friend, Derek. I met the whole family over a cup of delicious TIm Horton's coffee (after a super early departure from Bangor the morning after a wedding). I instantly fell in love with them all. Their story was so true. So filled with love. I knew then and there that I just had to be their photographer. I couldn't help but fall in love with them.
Fast forward to August 30th of this year and it was like a dream come true seeing everyone again. It was as if I was spending the day with old friends and watching two of them get married. The weather was so absolutely perfect. Crystal blue skies with just a small hint of the impending fall in the air. The details that they had done were just so perfect for their Clay Hill Farms wedding: hints of nature thanks to the wood they incorporated, a little bit of rustic added in from the burlap, a smidge of glam with their personalized napkins... it was them. You could tell that it was perfectly Alicia & Derek.
Alicia & Derek (and family), thank you for letting me be there with you all for the wedding. It was such an absolutely amazing day and I am so incredibly honored to have been there for it all.
Here is a sneak peek of the tons of photos that they got from their amazing day.

The ceremony itself was at the very "Maine" Day's Ferry Congregational Church in Woolwich. It featured the most gorgeous ceremonial music I have every heard and the most professional flower girl from any wedding I have ever attended. The music matched the day perfectly and everyone was mesmerized by the duos vocals. The flower girl had the biggest smile ever as she careful dropped the flower petals on her way down the aisle without even looking down at her basket once. I swear she must do it professional because she was awesome!
After snapping the formal portraits at the Church, it was off to the oceanside Taste of Maine to celebrate the newlyweds. The centerpieces were some of the most elaborate and gorgeous pieces I have ever seen. The cake... oh, the cake! European Bakery, as usual, outdid themselves with an absolutely stunning three tiered masterpiece that smelled, and I'm sure tasted, amazing. The couple shared their first dance in addition to dances with their parents and an anniversary dance that kept several couples on the dance floor well after the 30 year mark. It was impressive! Even more impressive was watching James' on the dance floor with one of his groomsmen. They were awesome to watch!
Congratulations, Christine & James, and thank you so much for letting me be a part of your day. It was such an honor!
All of Christine & James' photos are posted in their gallery, but you’ll need the password from her in order to see them and order printed goodies. In the meantime, here is a sneak peek from her senior portrait session. To see more, be sure to head over to my Facebook page and hit the “Like” button!
