Fifteen months. That is how long I waited to meet Lynsday & Collin for the first time on their wedding day. Yet that fifteen months of calls and emails made it seem like I was catching up with old friends when I arrived at Camp Wildwood in Bridgton, Maine, for their wedding festivities. I found Lyndsay with her ladies with their preparations well under way in one of the cabins tucked a bit away from the other wedding guests enjoying the beach across camp. The nerves had kicked in for everyone along with the occasional giggle of excitement. Meanwhile, Collin and his gents played volleyball by the main hall before retreating to the lower level of the cabin to tackle their own primping. With their getting ready stage completed, I shooed their lingering family and friends away (sorry, y’all!) to give these two a brief moment of time to see each other. As soon as they locked eyes on each other, the stress melted away and the laughter started again. As I saw them together in one space for the first time ever, it was very obvious to me why they make such a perfect match.
After checking family and bridal party portraits off our list, it was time to get these two love birds hitched! With the sun beginning to head towards the horizon across the lake, Lyndsay & Collin were surrounded by their friends and family as they said their vows beneath a canopy of tall pines (how very Maine!). The lake behind them glistened, the birds called, and they proclaimed, once and for all, to be with each other as husband and wife. And, with their vows complete, Lyndsay’s brother and sister flipped their way back up the aisle to kick off the processional and walk to the lodge in grand style. With that, the party could really get started.
The delightful The Roaming Speakeasy catered to the guests’ libation needs as they enjoyed the waning hours of the day with the sunset happening across the lake. Kim from Kiss on the Chic Weddings & Events ensured that all of the details were in place and all of the months of planning came to life just as they had envisioned it. After toasts, the newlyweds and I escaped down to the dock to take it all in for a few moments before kicking off the dance party for the night as they celebrated being married at last. And for the wedding planning officially being over!
Lynsday & Collin, thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me to capture the story of your day. I am so thrilled that you are happy with your image set. It was absolutely my honor to work with both of you. And thank you to Kim from Kiss on the Chic Weddings & Events for connecting us all those months ago. ♥
