Trash the Dress

Becky & Steve :: Trashing the Dress at Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth, Maine

Oh, Becky and Steve.... LOVE YOU GUYS! Becky and Steve tied the knot in Virginia on September 10th and then came to beautiful Maine for their honeymoon. What better way to celebrate this amazing time in their life than to capture more photos while they are glowing newlyweds? We met up at the always amazing Fort Williams Park and Portland Headlight in Cape Elizabeth to take some "day after" or "trash the dress" photos. I fell in love with their smiles, giggles, and the love story that led them to get married. They are so incredibly perfect for each other. Just a glance at how Steve looks at Becky and your heart will just melt.

Becky and Steve, thank you so much for letting me capture your special time here in Maine. I hope that your honeymoon was everything you were planning for and much more. And I hope that you were able to find the local pub I sent you to! I am looking forward to your next trip to Maine and getting to meet your son. Congratulations on your nuptials!

Brittany & Dan :: Trashing the Dress in Portsmouth and Footbridge Beach in Ogunquit

Oh, Brittany and Dan. How I love thee! These two love birds were married back in June during an especially gorgeous (aka warm) early summer day. With grand plans for a first look in downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire, we were all super excited to get lots of yummy portraits of the two of them before they tied to knot. But, as luck had it, there was not only a wedding set up where the "meeting spot" was supposed to be and the park was filled with Chowder Fest people! Obviously, our plans were dashed.

Not wanting to miss out, we got together again after the wedding and honeymoon to capture photos in those beloved locations much like we had envisioned for a couple months prior (minus Brittany's longer hair thanks to the post marriage chop, which I loved!). Here is a sneak peek of the magic that we caught during our session together. I love these two super bunches! I dare say you can just feel how in love they are. Ahhh.... *happy sigh*

The bridge shot below was one of our "really want to take" shots for our time together. Unfortunately, the bridge was closed and it was VERY clear there would be no walking on the bridge deck itself. However, never underestimate the power of a white dress and a really determined photographer. And a construction guy who wasn't afraid to get yelled at my his boss for letting us jump the barricades. :-)

Amanda & Justin :: Trash the Dress in Portland, Maine

I could have entitled this post so many different things. "Hunting for Fall Foliage." Or perhaps "Peanut is the Cutest Dog Ever and I Want to Steal Her." Or maybe just "Someday These Two Stunning People Will Have Cute Babies." No matter what, it was an awesome day. You might remember Amanda & Justin from their gorgeous wedding at the Mountain View Grand this summer. It was the one with three rainbows. When they were deciding on a date, they wanted the fall foliage but without the cold temperatures in the mountains. Frankly, that combination doesn't happen around here with a guarantee. So they opted to have a September wedding instead with a "Trash the Dress" portrait session once the foliage was in full kick. Although we didn't actually trash Amanda's gorgeous dress, we did manage to find the perfect foliage after a lot of hunting. And we also were able to incorporate cute lil' Peanut in to some of the shots for the family pictures we couldn't get without her at the wedding. She's was such a cutie and so much fun to hang out with during the session. Thank you, Amanda & Justin, for letting me capture your memories. May you have many, many years of happiness. You two are so awesome.

P.S. I'll "babysit" Peanut anytime you want. :-)
