Cerelia & Jim :: Biddeford Pool Wedding and North Dam Mill Reception in Biddeford, Maine

As I wrap up the gallery for Cerelia & Jim's gorgeous November wedding, it is the perfect time to reflect on the day. When I first met Cerelia and Jim, it was exactly eight months to the day before they were to walk down the aisle. I met them in the North Dam Mill in Biddeford, Maine, where their reception was to be held. I drank my fancy coffee from the amazing Perk Cafe. I crossed paths with one of my favorite DJs, Jim Smith from Premier Entertainment, as he was leaving his consultation with them and I was just heading in for my own. It was as if it was a sign of how awesome the actual wedding day would be.

Come the day of, the sun was shining brightly and the temperature was just warm enough to not be unbearable, but it was definitely still November. The crispness in the air was definitely there. Cerelia and her girls got ready at the Hampton Inn Biddeford-Saco and I arrived just as their makeup and hair was being finished. Hairspray was sprayed on their hair. And in their shoes (to prevent slipping). Dresses were pulled on. Tears were shed. It was a beautiful day to get married. Deciding to see each other prior to the ceremony, Jim first saw Cerelia as the elevator doors opened. A smile broke out on his previously nervous face. And her dad, also seeing her for the first time as a bride, was more excited than anyone. He was one proud dad!

We captured their bridal party portraits at the Inn before heading to Biddeford Pool with the bride & groom in a school bus with their bridal party and family. The coral that Cerelia chose to dress the bridal party in was the perfect pop of color against the blue ocean and the greenery of the trees.

The ceremony itself was held at the perfect little Union Church in Biddeford Pool. Between the warmth of the love between Cerelia & Jim and the heat wafting out of the floor vents, everyone soon forgot the quickly dropping temperatures outside as the sun began to set. For theirs guests who had traveled from far and wide, this was what they came for. To see Cerelia marry Jim, who she had pursued on her own despite him being her boss. Go, Cerelia! When she knows what she wants, she goes and gets it.

The celebratory reception was held in the awesome North Dam Mill in Biddeford. The building's character in combination with Cerelia's eye for detail and design led to an experience that no one will soon forget. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Cerelia & Jim danced the night away in each others arms. Completely and utterly in love. Basking in the glow of newlywedness.

Cerelia & Jim, thank you so much for letting me play a roll on your awesome day. It was so incredible! This is just a small sneak peek of the many, many more photos that will be coming to you shortly. I can't wait to show them all to you!

Megan & Ian's Wedding & Reception on the Ocean in Phippsburg, Maine

Often times, by their wedding day, I already feel like my couples aren't my clients. They really are like long time friends. For Megan & Ian, who booked me over a year in advance for the big day, it turned in to a family affair when we did their engagement session and they got to meet my baby girl, Bri, and my husband, Alan. They even decided to book a second photographer/assistant to make sure every aspect of their day was covered. My go to person? My husband. I love shooting weddings with him!

Arriving at Megan's family camp on the morning of was like a reunion with good friends we hadn't seen in a while: excitedly chatting about their new home, sharing stories of Bri's latest adventures... ahhh... love, love, love! Add on to all of that the absolutely gorgeous view, perfect weather, fluffy white clouds. It was an absolutely amazing day before it even started. Oh, and can I mention that Ian is British? Yes, complete with the accent. Love him!

It is so hard to describe their entire day in words at this point, not because it was in August, but because it was one fast blur of awesome. Their flowers from Marianmade Farm still make me swoon. The munchkins running around, or being soothed by the "baby whisperers", still makes me giggle. Working with my favorite DJ, Jim, from Premier Entertainment always means that I'll have a blast. The view... oh, the view! To look out on that bay every day would be heaven. The tears shed as the vows were said and the toasts given. Watching the sun set, and the moon rise, over the water with the stars sparkling up above. And the way that Ian looked at Megan all the time with that look that tells you that he knows how lucky he is to have her (and she to have him). It was all just incredible. It was certainly one of those days when calling this a job just feels wrong.

Although the newlyweds have long ago received their images from me, I wanted to be sure to share a sneak peek from their day for those of you who weren't blessed enough to be there. Megan & Ian, I think of you often and we are still very honored that you chose us to be there with you for your wedding. Love you guys!

Jennifer & Jared :: Wedding at Bates College Chapel and Reception at Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn, Maine

Back in August, I got together with Jennifer & Jared at Wolfe's Neck Farm in Freeport, Maine, to chat about their wedding plans and to take their engagement photos with their furry son, Sam. Fast forward 323 days and it was time for their wedding day! When they say that time flies, it certainly was the case with these two love birds. They came back to Jennifer's home state to tie the knot on a very steamy day day in June. Jennifer and her stunning ladies got ready at Sarah Jeanne's in Lewiston with a lot of smiling, a boat load of laughing, and even a few tears. After the primping had concluded, it was off to the amazing Bates College Chapel in Lewiston for their ceremony. Having never been in the Chapel before, I have to say that it certainly made me speechless. The detailed woodwork and the stunning stained glass complimented Jennifer & Jared's style so perfectly. The ceremony itself started with tears as Jennifer started down the aisle, brought looks of shock during the minister's sermon, and concluded with some of the biggest smiles I have ever seen as the newlyweds came back down the aisle. It was so perfect!

After a quick stop at the Veteran's Memorial Park for some groomsmen portraits, perfect for Jared being the history buff he is, and bridal party portraits by the falls we made out way to the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn to get the party started. Jennifer's sister and Jared's childhood friend toasted to memories of the years gone past complete with bowl cuts thanks to Jennifer's mom and backyard shananagains instigated by Jared. Needless to say, there was a LOT of laughing going on! Following the dances with their parents, Jennifer & Jared got the party started with the help of Jim from Premier Entertainment, who kept the dance floor packed all night long. It was an amazing day!

Jennifer & Jared, congratulations, once again, on your nuptials! It was an absolute honor to capture your day for you. I hope that you enjoyed your "mini-moon" here in Maine. You certainly had perfect weather for it!

Abbey & Steve :: Lakeside Wedding in Vassalboro, Maine

I am not even sure where I could start to describe Abbey & Steve's picture perfect August 13th wedding on a lake in Vassalboro, Maine. The soiree was held at Abbey's parent's perfectly manicured home on one of the most gorgeous days of the entire summer. All of the details of the day were classic, shabby chic. From their adorable "I Do. We Did." sign directing their guests to the adorable garden-inspired details were incredible.

While the men were putting together their last few details at the ceremony location, Abbey was nearby in another home getting ready with all of her girls and her incredible Mom. Her dress was absolutely stunning and so perfect for their entire day. Abbey's two sisters (and maid/matron of honor) were by her side the entire time to make sure every detail was taken care of.
Abbey and her ladies arrived at the ceremony via a secret boat ride from around the point. It definitely elicited many gasps and rounds of applause. It was definitely an attention getter!

Since Abbey works in a court house, it made finding someone to make it official quite easy to do! Joyce performed an incredible ceremony that was filled with lots of details of Abbey & Steve. They beautiful ceremony music was provided by friend's of Abbey's family.

The Newlyweds danced their first dance together to "You and I" from Ingrid Michaelson. It certainly made for a lot of smiles from everyone there and amazing moments between the two of them. It was an amazing start to a rockin' party!

The heartfelt toast by Abbey's sister's left many guests in tears (and maybe me, too). Steve's best men certainly did their part in telling stories of his fabled past. All of the toasts were such a great tribute to the two of them!

The details of the entire day were absolutely incredible! It certainly had a touch of "Martha Stewart" to it.

Abbey was fortunate to have several of her girlfriend's from high school in attendance (along with their future kiddos). Talk about some lovely ladies!
Abbey & Steve both have very, very proud parents. And rightfully so! They are so amazing!

Jim from Premier Entertainment, as always, had the dance floor absolutely packed from start to finish. I don't think that calling is an awesome party is even remotely close to living up to the actual day. It was down right perfect!

Abbey & Steve capped off the night with a fireworks display, which was launched from where they tied the knot. It certainly kept everyone's heads tilted to the sky and elicited many "Oooo"s and "Ahhhhh"s. Before starting the dance floor back up, their guests lined up with sparklers for a proper entrance back in to the tent.

Abbey & Steve, I hope that your marriage is just as incredible as the day that it all started. You are two amazing individuals with tons of super supportive family and friends. Congratulations!
