Jessica & Aaron :: Wedding at St. Joseph's in Portland & Reception at The Landing at Pine Point

I am super behind on my blog posts thanks to a crazy busy fall and my new life with an almost six month old. Whoops!

Jessica & Aaron are one of those couples who are just fun. Fun to hang out with, fun to run around a freezing beach with, fun to take pictures of... you see where I am going with this. These two lovebirds were hitched on October 12th, but you might remember them from my engagement session with them almost a year ago at Fort Williams in Cape Elizabeth. Point a camera at Aaron and he gets all smiley and starts laughing. And then Jessica starts smiling because of Aaron. It's all one happy circle.

My husband turned second shooter, Alan, and I first met up with Jessica on the glorious wedding day. And by glorious, I mean an absolutely picture perfect, amazing, somewhat brisk fall day. Ok, somewhat brisk is an understatement, but lets pretend it wasn't quite as chilly as it really was. Jessica and her ladies got ready at her mom's amazing estate in Windham, Maine, before heading in to Portland for the ceremony at St. Joseph's. Aaron and his guys had met up with Alan and put the finishing touches on all of the details before the ladies arrives. The ceremony itself was absolutely perfect. But, then again, I think just about every ceremony performed by Father John Tokaz is. It had moments of seriousness punctuated by brief stints of laughter, a brief appearance of tears followed by big, beaming smiles. It was the kind of ceremony that made those of us in attendance who are married look to our partner and smile, knowing that the vows still apply to us, too.

After the ceremony, we took their family portraits outside the church with everyone making quick trips in and out of the church to stay warm. It was just a bit chilly! But I don't think chilly quite fits the bill for our trip down to the beach in Old Orchard Beach. Brrr! Running down to the beach happened, but it was definitely not because we were rushing for the water. The end result was completely worth it since I dare say it led to some of my favorite portraits of all time. Sunset, beach, city in the background, and an awesomely fun bridal party. Recipe for awesome!

The newlyweds and their closest family & friends celebrated the big event at the incredible Landing at Pine Point in Scarborough, Maine, complete with delicious food and amazing cake, both from Black Tie Catering Co. in Portland, Maine. The dance floor was packed all night long and the photo lounge was hoping, both thanks to Northeast DJs in Portland, Maine. Even Father John got his groove on with the bridal party! It was such an awesome party and the perfect way to celebrate the beginning of their new life together. I dare say none of us will forget it any time soon.

Congratulations, Jessica & Aaron, and thank you so much for letting us play a roll in your day. It was such a blast!

Be on the lookout for all of the photos to be ready shortly. In the meantime, here is a sneak peek from their wedding day. To see more, be sure to head over to my Facebook page and hit the “Like” button!
