Keriann & Josemir :: Nashoba Valley Winery Wedding & Reception

Keriann & Josemir found me through Kelly & Ryan as they were all planning their 2013 weddings. When Keriann told me that their wedding would be held at The Pavilion at the Nashoba Valley Winery, I wouldn't help but jump up and down with excitement, hoping that I would be picked to cover the day. The connection was almost instant and they soon made it official that I would be photographing their nuptials. I was one very happy photog!

Fast forward 464 days (Yes, that's right! They booked me over 15 months in advance! Smart couple right there.), and the big day was here. The weather forecast... well... we were all crossing our fingers in the days leading up to it. For the second time this season (just like at Catherine & Will's May wedding), we all crowded around a cell phone to anxiously watch the radar report. And, for the second time, we all let out a huge sigh followed by smiles as we found that the coast was clear and the weather would be in our favor. In our favor? What an understatement! It turned out to be GORGEOUS! And while we're on the subject of gorgeous, can I just say how absolutely stunning Keriann was and how incredible her gorgeous gown was? *sigh* So very, very pretty!

Keriann & Josemir's family and friends gathered around the gazebo next to the pond in the glorious sun as they pronounced their love for one another. They started as coworkers, but that day they became husband & wife. The Reverend perfected his Portuguese in incorporate Josemir's native tongue in to the ceremony, which elicited plenty of giggles and smiles from his family. Each said their vows to one another. The kiss. The smiles and cheers. It was so perfect. Two families from two different countries became one close knit unit. And, now, it was time to party (after the portraits, of course)!

Josemir's best man & step father, Frank, gave one of the best toasts that I have ever heard. He spoke of Josemir's dreams of coming to America as he was a child growing up in Brazil. Of Josemir asking his mother to help him make his dreams a reality. And of his mother doing just that. But, just as Josemir's dreams of coming to America came true, to did Frank's dreams of finding his true love, which he found in Josemir's mother. I had to choke back the tears, guys; his words were so heartfelt and true. But that is how love works, isn't it? A twist of fate brings us together often when we least expect it. Perhaps with someone we would have never guessed. Keriann & Josemir are definitely a match that was meant to be.

The celebrating lasted well in to the late afternoon with a dance floor filled with so many wild characters burning it up: The moms were dancing together like they were long lost friends. One of the guest's hats made the rounds and landed on Keriann's head during when an always popular Michael Jackson song was played. Invisible jump rope had everyone racing to take turns jumping. One thing was always true. Smiles were everywhere. It was a perfect day.

Keriann & Josemir, thank you from the very bottom of my heart for having me capture your day for you. I am so honored. Congratulations on the start to the next amazing chapter in your life together!
